At NEON, the safety and well-being of our employees, members and clients is always our priority, and we recognize the important role we play in the small business community during this critical time. We are actively monitoring the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation and taking steps to help keep our community safe. We wanted to share with you some steps we are taking.
Aligning with the Minnesota executive order and public health authorities
We officially closed NEON and NEON Spaces on March 16th, prior to the Minnesota executive order. We will continue to keep our offices closed until Governor Walz and our local health authorities authorize otherwise. We are closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization regarding COVID-19. We will continue to seek guidance from these agencies, public health officials and government agencies on an ongoing basis.
Protecting our employees, members and clients
As our employees interact with customers and the general public, we have taken steps to limit exposure to the virus. We have provided remote-work solutions and continue to reinforce safe behavior in every environment – from our homes to the office, where we have ramped up deep-cleaning and follow social distancing guidelines strictly. NEON would like to make it clear that two of NEON staff have self-reported suspected cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) that is not confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). Both were believed to have received it from the greater community, not the office.
Assisting our employees
TeamNEON meets daily through video conferencing. We closely monitor the needs of our staff, clients and members. Employees who feel ill have been proactive in communicating with their physicians and are following specific quarantine/self-isolation procedures. We have offered great flexibility to our staff to encourage health and balance during this difficult transition.
Our commitment to our clients and our community
TeamNEON has worked diligently to continue providing critical small business services to our clients and members. We have created reliable resources which can be found on our website (https://www.neon-mn.org/covid-19-business-information). We have been proactive in securing financial resources to assist our clients through this difficult time. We continue our 1-1 technical assistance through video conference calls. We are in close contact with our clients to assist through this devastating time.
What we ask of you
We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety and health of our employees, members and clients, but we need your help. Please continue to follow the Minnesota executive order: If your business is considered essential and you are required to go into the office please follow safe social distancing, wear a mask/mouth cover, wash your hands regularly and clean/disinfect the area before you leave. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please call your physician immediately and follow the self-isolation procedures. Do not come into the office if you are experiencing flu like symptoms until you have been cleared by a health professional. For safety and security reasons access to NEON space is limited to those who provide essential services and NEON member staff must have a key fob for entry. Please don’t request anyone to let you in the building, that will not be permitted. As always, thank you for being a NEON member and for your continued trust as we manage through this time together.
